"The world is throwing down new challenges to architecture."
From 22 May to 21 November, visit the #BiennaleArchitettura2021 #HowWillWeLiveTogether in Venice to discover how architects from around the world are addressing these major challenges.
It will be open to the public from Saturday 22 May to Sunday 21 November 2021, the 17. International Architecture Exhibition entitled How will we live together?,curated by Hashim Sarkis and organised by la Biennale di Venezia.
The Exhibition will take place in the Central Pavilion at the Giardini, the Arsenale, and Forte Marghera, and will include 112 Participants from 46 Countries, with an increasing representation from Africa, Latin America and Asia, 62 National Participations, 4 of which present for the first time at the Architecture Biennale (Republic of Azerbaijan, Grenada, Iraq and Uzbekistan), and 17 Collateral Events admitted by the Curator and promoted by national and international non-profit organizations and institutions.
The architects invited to take part have been encouraged to involve artists, builders, craftsmen, as well as politicians, journalists, sociologists and ordinary citizens in their research in order to respond to the new problems that the world is posing to architecture: the new challenges posed by climate change; the role of public space in recent urban uprisings; new reconstruction techniques; the changing forms of collective housing throughout the world; the architecture of education and the education of the architect; the relationship between curatorship and architecture.
Finally, the Weekends on Architecture, a series of meetings with architects, scholars and professionals from all over the world who will try to answer the question How will we live together?
